Shutter Installation Opening Size Create the opening in the wall for the shutter with an additional 1/2" on each side. For example, when installing a 24" shutter, create an opening with the dimensions of 24.5" x 24.5". Shutter Depth The depth for each shutter, regardless of length and width dimensions, is 2". The shutters extend an additional 1.5" from their resting position. Mounting Frame Secure wooden 2" x 4" boards around the opening in the wall. Mounting the shutter directly to these boards ensures stability and longevity of the unit. Flange Mounting Holes Mounting holes are exposed on the shutter flanges. Use the included hardware to mount the shutter to the independently created wooden frame.
APPLICATIONS This motorized shutter kit can ventilate your garage, attic, greenhouse, workshop, or chicken coop. This is done by using this shutter as an inlet or outlet. Switch the motor “ON” to open the shutter and switch it “OFF” to close the shutter.
INSTALLATION The shutter can be easily added to a window or wall opening. Assembly is required for the motor. Please search for our installation video. Please use a certified electrician to connect the motor to a reliable power source. The motor can be wired either 120 or 220 Volt. An electric power cord is not included.
VENTILATION This motorized shutter kit can help pull fresh air in and release old air. Use of the shutter is a component of “Passive Ventilation” which requires a 21 ratio of inlet to outlet areas. VES shutter fans (an “Active Ventilation” product where the shutter is paired with a fan) are available for purchase in a separate listing.
RUST PROOF ALUMINUM SHUTTERS All shutters are made with corrosion-resistant aluminum. This ensures the shutter’s longevity and will prevent rust from forming.
