Cure Station PHANTOM can be applied professionally by an Authorized PHANTOM Installer using a Cure Station. This process takes approximately 20 minutes with minor preparation. Cure Station application, available at select DPS dealers, is the most precise and fastest method to apply PHANTOM to skis or snowboards, and is a reliable all-season solution during the low light winter months, especially in more extreme latitudes, and in wetter climates where sunshine isn’t as consistent. How does PHANTOM claim ‘permanence,’ with a single application for the life of a ski or snowboard? Traditional wax is a topical application (i.e. it adheres to the base surface, but does not penetrate the base surface) and thereby wears off on every run you take. PHANTOM miniaturized the “slippery stuff” into molecules that absorb into the base. How does PHANTOM’s glide remain consistent over extreme temperature swings? The simple answer lies in PHANTOM’s stable chemical structure. PHANTOM is a crystalline structure which does not dramatically change over wide temperatures, allowing consistent glide beyond what an ‘all-temperature wax can accomplish. What happens if your ski or snowboard suffers base damage that needs repair? A shop can repair the PHANTOM treated base just as you would normally with base welds and patches. We recommend that PHANTOM be applied to the P-tex repair zone to maintain consistency across the entire surface area of the base. Does PHANTOM work with skins for backcountry skiing and snowboarding? With PHANTOM, you no longer need to worry about wax being removed by skins; skin glue is no longer contaminated by wax, and you always can rely on glide in variable snow conditions throughout the season. Is there a shelf life or temperature storage requirement? No. PHANTOM does not have a shelf life, or storage temperature requirement. To use the Phantom Glide single application kit, you're going to need an industry-approved base cleaner, or simply isopropyl alcohol, and some paper towels to make sure that we clean the bases properly of any wax or wax residue. Step #2 & 3 Apply & Spread Phantom Open that packet and dribble that on the ski right down the center. Once the Phantom Glide is applied to the ski, rub it in with the black rubber pad. Step #4 Cure In Direct Sunlight Set these skis in the sun for an hour. It takes 60 Minutes in direct sunlight for Phantom Glide to cure. Make sure that you have no cloud cover and then you'll see a very thin Sheen of residue. Step #5 Brush & Enjoy Once the ski is cured and ready to brush, the one thing that you'll notice is this ski looks almost identical to when we put it out in the sun. There's a very thin sheen on the ski and there is no more white residue or thick residue that has to be removed. Use our polishing pad that comes with the kit, and you're ready for the slopes.
